RESEARCH

2001 Published Drawing Our Lives, a resource guide outlining DWEBA's use of visual language as a participatory methodology (see points below).  
1998 - 2001 Louise and two other women formed a non-government organisation (NGO), The Development of Dynamic Women's Enterprise in Business and Art (DWEBA), a development and skills training NGO aimed primarily at rural craftswomen in KwaZulu-Natal. DWEBA worked with crafters from Gannahoek, Muden, Esithumba, Rorke's Drift, with The Lubombo SDI Craft Programme and other NGO's.
1995 - 2001 Applied and developed a visual language-based, gender-sensitive and participatory methodology which had been developed through research conducted through The Institute of Natural Resources (INR), UNP (1989 -1991) with groups of rural KZN craftswomen.
1995 - 1997 Worked with Gannahoek Women's Income Generating Project (GWP), through The Association of Rural Advancement (AFRA), Pietermaritzburg.
1989 - 1991 Research with rural craftswomen and development of a framework for a gender- sensitive, participatory training methodology with visual language at its core, INR, UNP.
